Elizabeth Barker has practiced law in the Canberra Region since being first admitted to practice in 1968. She has completed degrees in both Arts and Law at the University of Sydney and has been admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory and the High Court of Australia.

Elizabeth has a considerable practice in the litigation area. She has a great depth of experience in personal injury claims and has presented numerous cases for hearing to the Magistrates Court and the Supreme Court. She also understands that in many instances claims can be very satisfactorily and economically resolved by negotiation directly with the relevant insurer or its legal adviser. Elizabeth also undertakes commercial litigation with enthusiasm.

As well as being involved in litigation Elizabeth has a growing Probate practice and employs both energy and efficiency in the administration of deceased estates. She believes that after loss of a family member clients need not only understanding of their recent experience but resolution of estate matters in a timely manner.

With expertise gained over many years in estate matters, Elizabeth is able to advise in relation to the many issues that can arise in the preparation of wills (both simple and complex) and powers of attorney.
