David Ridge is one of Canberra’s most experienced and respected Family Lawyers and a partner of Barker & Barker. He studied Law at the ANU and was admitted to practice in 1983. He joined Barker & Barker at that time.

David practices in the litigation field. He has a particular emphasis and expertise in Family Law in which he has practised for in excess of 20 years. David accepts referrals of persons who are in receipt of grants of Legal Aid for Family Law matters. He is regularly called upon by the ACT Legal Aid Office to act as Children’s Representative in Family Law matters and to act as convenor of Family Dispute Resolution Conferences conducted by the Legal Aid office.

In addition David undertakes civil litigation in the Supreme and Magistrates Courts, including commercial litigation, personal injury claims and debt recovery matters. He also has a wide range of experience in these matters. He also appears regularly for clients charged with criminal and traffic offences.

In line with the aim of Barker & Barker of providing a comprehensive and personalised general legal practice, David is also happy to assist with the preparation of wills and powers of attorney.
